Collin Van Son is a Denver-based playwright, poet, and essayist. His full-length plays include Natural History, featured at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's 2023 National Playwrights Conference and a 2025 Princess Grace Award semifinalist; Two-Man Rule, featured at New Art City Theatre's Festival '25, a 2026 Blue Ink Award finalist, and a 2021 Eugene O'Neill finalist; and TARVA, which he directed at Penn State University in 2018. His one-act play Disavow was featured at the 2024 Southeast Texas Festival of New Plays, and his one-act children's show Moreland & Halifax: Well-Read Detectives has received student productions in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His debut chapbook of poetry, How to Draw a Blank, was published by Cathexis Northwest Press in 2020.
Coming up: On Sunday, June 14, my play Natural History will be having a staged reading at the Colorado New Play Festival in Steamboat Springs. The following January, the show will have its world premiere at Mosaic Theater Company in Washington, D.C., where it will run from January 21 to February 7, 2027.
